Next, he unscrewed the trim around the wheel so that he could access the area better.
He replaced it with a new piece of steel square tube
. 
He attached the two tubes by screwing a piece of flat rod to them.
On the other end, he attached the steel square tube
to the wheel well.
Next, he screwed it to the fiberglass.
He attached it with self-tapping screws
.
Then, he used an aluminum trim piece
along the length to cover the damage. (He attached it with screws.)
Last, he sealed all the seams with silicone
to create a weather proof seal.
The other day I noticed my RV had a few large dents on the outside of it. Also the wheel wells were looking very rusted. The photos of your repairs are all awesome. DeleteThanks for sharing your story. There’s nothing more frustrating than noticing damage to a vehicle, let alone your mobile home! What a thrifty husband you have, though. Love the great step-by-step pictures. The before and after pictures demonstrate quite the transition. These will surely help other RVer’s who might be in the same boat. I know I’ll pass these along to my husband for reference!
